Please join BDO and the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) to discuss the top issues facing Canadian manufacturers, and how emerging technology is shaping the future of the sector.

John Anderlic
Partner
BDO Canada LLP

John is a senior business leader with over 27 years of Canadian and International assurance and advisory experience. He has a prove track record of high quality service to large and mid-size public and privately held companies and public sector organizations. John has industry experience serving manufacturers, distributors, retailers, credit unions, biotechs, not-for-profits and aboriginal organizations.

John specializes in financial statement audits in accordance with IFRS, ASPE, PSAS and not-for-profit accounting standards, He also has considerable experience with complex business transactions from mergers & acquisitions, start-ups or expansions, divestitures, privatizations, IPO’s, business restructurings, financing and family succession.

John is the leader of BDO’s Manufacturing and Distribution industry team in Edmonton, as well as being the Alberta provincial leader for the Manufacturing and Distribution industry group.

Wilson Ho
Manager
BDO Consulting – Technology Advisory Services

Wilson is an experienced IT leader, who recently joined the BDO Canada LLP IT Solutions Technology Advisory Services team. He provides expert advisory and leadership to clients in IT strategies, business process improvements and technology decision making.

Wilson has over 17 years of experience in directing all aspects of IT Management, including enterprise architecture, technical operations, IT project direction, and team mentorship.

Using his well-rounded experience, Wilson works closely with client’s leadership in planning, defining vision, success and priorities that are important to their organizations, and help driving client’s organizations through the tactical and into the operational state.

Mike Holden
Chief Economist
Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters

Based out of Calgary, Mike brings over 20 years of experience as an economist and public policy analyst to CME. He leads the organization’s economic analysis and forecasting functions, and plays a key role in policy research and setting CME’s strategic agenda for government advocacy on behalf of manufacturers and exporters across Canada.

As the director of CME’s major research projects, Mike has written on a wide range of issues important to manufacturers, including tax competitiveness, NAFTA, and female representation in the manufacturing workforce. He also directs CME’s biannual Management Issues Survey, and was a key architect of CME’s Industrie 2030 initiative. In addition, Mike regularly speaks across Canada about the economy and the issues and challenges facing Canadian Manufacturers.

Prior to joining CME, Mike was the Senior Economist at the Canada West Foundation, where he managed the Foundation’s economic analysis and fiscal policy research agenda. He worked on a number of major public policy issues including energy development, fiscal federalism, infrastructure investment and resource revenue savings.

Mike Ketler
Business Development Manager
BDO Consulting – Technology Advisory Services

Mike is a Business Development Manager with BDO Canada LLP. He has 25 years’ experience working in the Information Technology consulting on ERP business solutions to manufacturing and distribution organizations across Canada.

Mike has a broad range of industry experience in manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, oil & gas, agriculture and project services. His strengths include consulting on strategic technology plans and defining, developing innovative business solutions to support the clients’ key business objectives.

Mike is also responsible for engaging in identifying and understanding the client ongoing needs for continuous improvement, and working closely with BDO’s professional services teams to develop and deliver solutions tailored to those needs.

David MacLean
Alberta Vice President
Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters

Originally from Fort McMurray, Alberta, David has over 20 years of experience in public affairs, political advocacy and business development. David began his career with communications posts at Syncrude and the Government of Alberta.

From there, David served as the Saskatchewan Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation. Returning to Alberta, David was Vice President of Alberta Enterprise Group before taking on his current challenge with Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters.

Over the years, he has published opinion pieces in publications across Canada on a variety of issues including tax reform, competitiveness and government accountability.

David serves on the SAIT School of Manufacturing & Automation Dean’s Advisory Council and the Athabasca University Business Leaders Advisory Committee.
