CME welcomes Spring Red-Tape Reduction Bill

Dennis Darby, President and CEO of CME issued the following statement with regards to the red-tape reduction proposals announced today by the Government of Ontario:

“Manufacturers welcome today’s announcement by the Government of Ontario which will further reduce the regulatory burden for manufacturers. Complying with regulations currently costs our Ontario members in average $33, 000 a year, more than in any other province.

Specifically, we were pleased to see measures to modernize environmental compliance practices, modernize workplace health and safety requirements and provides employers with free and instant access to employee training verification.

We look forward to working with the Government of Ontario on working towards achieving a world-class, agile regulatory system that supports innovation and investment, while protecting the environment, and the health and safety of Ontarians.
