LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

OVERVIEW

Struggling to build momentum on your Lean journey? Front-line leaders influence employee engagement. This course will impact efficiency, improve productivity and strengthen your bottom line.

Participate in five, full-day workshops and receive one-on-one phone coaching in between workshops. Mentors from the same company help learners apply workshop teachings to the workplace.

We also offer the leadership and development program for women in manufacturing.

about LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR WOMEN IN MANUFACTURING

CME’s Leadership Development Program helps companies develop supervisors and leaders to influence employee engagement to impact efficiency, improve productivity and strengthen the bottom line. Through the Women in Manufacturing initiative, a special women’s-only session of this popular course is available for fall intake only. By delivering CME’s best-in-class leadership training in a women’s-only learning environment, participants will develop a powerful network of peers and advocates. Participants are supported by mentors from the same company who coach learners to apply workshop teachings to the workplace. As an added bonus, women who do not have access to a female mentor within their own organization have the option to be matched with a female manufacturing business leader to complement their learning.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Enhanced ability to lead, encourage and support direct reports, achieve group objectives and support Lean initiatives
  • Performance management and delegation, coaching for improvement, dealing with differences and conflict resolution, leading high-performance teams, conducting purposeful meetings, problem solving, culture and change, and personal leadership
  • Mentors will improve their effectiveness through the structured “mentor feedback process”
  • New leaders or existing leaders with daily and practical opportunities to apply teachings

WHY LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT?

Participants are mentored by a leader from their own company who supports with real-time coaching; and will receive a variety of on-the-job tools that can be used easily and right away in the workplace. Learning outcomes include:

  • Enhanced ability to lead, encourage and support direct reports, achieve group objectives and support Lean initiatives
  • Performance management and delegation, coaching for improvement, dealing with differences and conflict resolution, leading high-performance teams, conducting purposeful meetings, problem solving, culture and change, and personal leadership
  • Higher level leaders in organizations will be more effective
  • Better alignment of company vision and goals, organization and understanding of leadership.

PRE-REQUISITE(S)

None

COURSE LENGTH & TIME COMMITMENT

  • Mentors must have a clear understanding and demonstrated commitment of time, resources and support for their leaders (approx. 30- 60 mins / week)
  • Mentors: 1.5 days in session, plus required homework/applied learning
  • Participants: 5.5 days in session, plus required homework/applied learning
  • Course takes place over 8-12 weeks, inlcuding one-on-one telephone coaching with the facilitator between sessions
