CME’s Women in Manufacturing Success Forum will:

Minister of Status of Women
Join Minister Monsef as she will be moderating a fireside chat with several young women beginning their career in manufacturing. The panelists will share their perspective on what attracted them to manufacturing and the challenges they face.
Minister Monsef was sworn in as Minister of Status of Women in January 2017. She introduced Canada’s first ever Strategy to Prevent Gender-Based Violence, and lead the transformation of the Status of Women from a federal agency to a full-fledged government department, the Department for Women and Gender Equality (WAGE), for the first time since it was created more than 40 years ago.

Rick has 25 years in the manufacturing industry, experiencing all areas of the manufacturing business. As a general manager he is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, establishing team member career development, encouraging innovative adoption, and empowering the team to be comfortable making decisions, and mistakes, at all levels.

In this role, Michele has led significant efforts to transform the organizational culture and embed inclusion into business processes to create meaningful results and lasting change. The success and impact of the Culture of Inclusion Journey earned Rockwell Automation a Catalyst Award in 2017.

President & COO, Steelworks Design
As President & COO, Rhonda spent the past 10 years as VP of Finance for Steelworks Design Inc. where she managed the day to day operations as well as finance and business development portfolios. At Steelworks Design, Rhonda has cultivated a dedicated team with a small-town work ethic, supported by a global vision. Rhonda is asked regularly to advise and consult with EDC, BDC and the Federal Government on the needs and issues of SME’s within Canadian Manufacturing.
