COVID-19 Town Hall

COVID-19 UPDATE & MANUFACTURING TOWN HALL

Warning lights alarm at Automated Machinery Production in Factory .

OVERVIEW

Omicron has once again introduced manufacturers to yet another new normal; on top of existing supply chain issues compounded by recent policy decisions (i.e. mandatory vaccinations for truckers).

Join CME on Thursday, January 20 at 1:00pm CST for a Town Hall as our policy, safety and HR leads provide an update on impacts to the manufacturing sector in Manitoba. Members are encouraged to bring forward best practices and solutions as well. The issues facing the sector are nuanced and a multi-perspective dialogue will help manufacturers navigate the various scenarios facing different subsectors and regions.

Topics to be addressed include:

  • Omicron: absenteeism, anticipated peak, rapid testing best practices and sources/availability
  • Policy Impacts: evolving federal and provincial policies around COVID, including restrictions, exemptions and grants
  • Supply Chain: capacity restrictions, rapidly increasing costs and availability of supplies, trucking shortages

We encourage members to contact us with questions in advance, which will help inform our agenda and policy efforts. Submit your inquiry to Ron.Koslowsky@cme-mec.ca or 204.612.6628.
