Workshop Objectives

  • Explain the role of HR in a manufacturing environment and describe how people decisions influence safety, productivity, quality, and business outcomes.
  • Identify core workforce and HR practices – including recruitment, training, competency development, and compensation basics – that support attraction, retention, and performance.
  • Apply practical approaches to managing compliance, workplace culture, and employee relations, including addressing common people issues and conflict.
  • Evaluate current people practices and identify one or two realistic actions to better align HR efforts with organizational goals.

Facilitator

Dana Bergman is a facilitator, educator, and workforce development professional who supports manufacturing organizations in strengthening leadership, people practices, and workplace systems. As the HR Peer Council facilitator, she creates a collaborative space for HR professionals to share insights, address challenges, and learn from one another’s experiences.

Through her work with Trellis Pathways, Dana designs and delivers practical training in HR fundamentals, helping HR practitioners and operational leaders build confidence and clarity in their roles. With certifications in Adult & Continuing Education and Teaching English as a Second Language, and as a Master of Education candidate in Educational Leadership, she is committed to helping workplaces build strong, sustainable people systems that support safety, retention, and performance.
