Peter Hoekstra, United States Ambassador to Canada
Pete Hoekstra became the 26th United States’ Ambassador to Canada on April 29, 2025. Prior to this, he served as Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party (MIGOP) during the 2024 elections, where his leadership was considered instrumental in delivering a Republican victory. He is also the President of Hoekstra Global Strategies in Holland, Michigan, and a board member of the Council for a Secure America. He served as Ambassador to the Netherlands during the first Trump Administration.
The Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario
The Honourable Evan Solomon is no stranger to turning moments of profound change into opportunities to build a better future for Canadians. Long before being elected as the Member of Parliament for Toronto Centre in 2025, Minister Solomon forged a dynamic ten-year career as an entrepreneur—launching and leading a venture that bridged technology and media, with a focus on connecting with Canadians. His entrepreneurial drive sharpened his instinct for innovation and his talent for building teams capable of tackling the challenges of a rapidly shifting world.
Recognized as a trusted voice in Canadian journalism, Solomon had a broadcasting career spanning over two decades, across newsrooms, studios and digital platforms. As the acclaimed host of CTV’s Power Play and Question Period, and CBC’s Power & Politics, he earned a reputation for incisive analysis and fearless interviews. His work as a columnist for Maclean’s and The Globe and Mail, as well as his role as publisher of GZERO Media and as senior executive at Eurasia Group, made him a fixture not just on Canadian airwaves but also among global leaders seeking clarity amid complexity.
Solomon is also an author and has contributed to bestselling works like Fueling the Future and Feeding the Future. His important contribution to Canada has earned him the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
It was the historic, hinge moment currently facing Canada that called Solomon into the public service. Inspired by the conviction that this is an opportunity and a responsibility not to be missed, he answered the Prime Minister’s call, determined to help shape Canada’s digital future to deliver better services for Canadians.
Minister Solomon is a proud graduate of McGill University, having majored in English literature and religious studies. He is a devoted father of two and lives in Toronto with his wife, Tammy—always.
Dennis Darby, President and CEO, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters
Dennis Darby joined CME as President & CEO of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters in 2017. Dennis’ background includes a 24-year career in senior management at Proctor & Gamble, including leadership roles in the US and Europe. Dennis graduated from McMaster University in 1984 with a degree in Chemical Engineering and Management, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.
