CME recently submitted our response to the Government of Ontario’s Made-in-Ontario Environment Plan. Our response mainly focused on air quality, addressing climate change, and reducing waste. CME has been active on this file as we submitted an initial submission back in November before the plan was released and we have had a series of meetings with political staff and senior government officials over the last few months to ensure that the plan reflects a balance between environmental performance and investment. Our efforts resulted in a number of key pillars being adopted in the plan, including the Ontario Carbon Trust, a $400 million fund focused on driving private capital, equity and investment for industry. In the coming weeks, CME will be continuing to have meetings on the plan and will be participating in the upcoming consultations related to the emissions performance stances.
