CME met with the Premier’s Office to begin discussions around the pending industrial electricity pricing consultations. We anticipate the consultations to begin early this year and the process could be moving at a fast pace. A recurrent issue in the Industrie 2030 Ontario hearings was that the province’s energy policies were effectively pushing local manufacturers to relocate to the United States. Ontario needs to once again leverage its energy policy to attract investment in manufacturing, while at the same time broadening and strengthening the rate base. We ask that you get in touch to provide us with input, research and recommendations that CME should take into consideration as it begins its work with respect to these consultations. CME will have more to announce in the coming days as it relates to the industrial rate consultations. For more information and to provide input, please contact Alex Greco.
