About us

In 1986, we broke ground for the plant at TMMC, and since 1988, Canadian hands have been making Canadian vehicles. In 1988, the year TMMC opened, we built 153 vehicles. Today, our three plants in Cambridge and Woodstock have the ability to build over 500,000 vehicles annually. That puts Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada in the top 5 global Toyota manufacturing plants. We have been recognized with many Plant Quality awards – more than any other automotive manufacturer in the Americas, in fact! These include a few Platinum and many Gold awards. Here’s a look at how we got from there to here—then to now—including all of the important milestones along the way.
