Your Partners in Growth

One of CME’s greatest strengths is connecting manufacturers with each other. Our network is vast, spanning every sector, size, and region of Canada’s manufacturing community.

At the core of this network are our peer councils, roundtables, and consortia — trusted spaces where leaders share insights, exchange best practices, and tackle challenges together.

By manufacturers, for manufacturers, these connections create a powerful ecosystem of shared learning. Members don’t just gain ideas; they gain allies who understand the pressures of the shop floor and the demands of global competition. This collective knowledge helps companies accelerate growth, strengthen their operations, and raise the competitiveness of Canadian manufacturing as a whole.

Made Safe - MB

Since its inception in 2016, Made Safe has been committed to providing top tier health and safety services to its members.  Previously, our program existed as a safety initiative by the Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada (AMC) where it served the agricultural manufacturing sector. On January 1, 2016, after identifying a lack of safety and health support services for the broader manufacturing industry in Manitoba, Made Safe assumed responsibility for the program. A CME Manitoba initiative, Made Safe provides health and safety services designed specifically for the needs of the manufacturing work environment. In partnership with SAFE Work Manitoba, Made Safe makes it easier for employers and workers to ensure workplaces are safe and productive.

At Made Safe, we believe that creating a safety culture is crucial to the continuous success of your business, and to the health of your employees and consumers as your company grows. But, like most things, this is easier said than done. Manufacturing work environments often face complex needs and challenges. This is where Made Safe comes in – we offer valuable, manufacturing-focused health and safety expertise. As an industry-specific health and safety association, our services are tailored for the needs of the manufacturing workplace. Guided by an industry-led safety council, the association offers training, access to events and resources, consulting and certification – by manufacturers, for manufacturers.

Manufacturing Safety for Manitoba

  • Made Safe offers an extensive range of member services, including more than 30 training courses
  • A safer industry means lower WCB costs for everyone – as much as 30 per cent based on historical data
  • 70 per cent fewer lost time injuries
  • 52 per cent sector participation in just six months
  • 15 per cent rebate on WCB fees upon certification
  • And much more!

AMPG - AB

Funded by the Government of Alberta, the Alberta Manufacturing Productivity Grant (AMPG) helps small- and medium-sized manufacturers improve their operations, invest in technology to automate production and increase competitiveness in markets across Canada and abroad.

To compete in our modern economy, manufacturers must ensure their operations are world class. This includes leveraging advanced manufacturing technologies to enhance productivity.

Addressing the productivity challenge is critical to assuring Alberta, and Canada’s future prosperity through a strong, vibrant, and growing manufacturing sector. The good news, more than half of the manufacturers that responded to CME’s Management Issues Survey said they plan to invest in new technologies. Many of these same manufacturers stated that the cost associated with adopting new technologies is a challenge.
