water drop

OVERVIEW

Wastewater is poorly labelled since it contains many valuable raw renewable resources. The challenge most industries face is to find a market for their product, then manufacture the product in a cost-effective manner to generate a profit. Opportunities for possible resource recovery from wastewater treatment (WWTP) along with the path to energy neutral or better, needs to be actively considered as part of future upgrades and expansions at wastewater treatment plants. While certain recovery processes are not financially viable at this time due to market conditions, provision to include possible optimizations, or upgrades will leave future opportunities open (future proofing). Lessons learned as part of possible strategic financial investments at one WWTP may facilitate planned growth opportunities at other WWTPs and a method to assess their viability.

Join us as Nick Szoke of Stantec presents on wastewater opportunities. We will also discuss current issues and opportunities facing manufacturing and initiatives to address manufacturing sustainability needs.
