Manufactured Right Here – CME NL
Manufactured Right Here (MRH) is a registered trademark owned and facilitated by Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters. It was established in 1990 by the Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Division of CME (CME NL), making it one of the most established ‘support local’ provincial programs in the country.
Since its inception three decades ago, the logo has grown to represent the pride that Newfoundlanders and Labradorians show in supporting their neighbours, communities, and provincial economy by buying products made or Manufactured Right Here in NL.
“Not all products can be Manufactured Right Here, but we want to bring attention to the ones that are. We want to promote and strengthen the talent and hard-working Newfoundlanders and Labradorians,” says David Haire, Vice President of CME NL, “doing so strengthens our businesses, creates more jobs, and keeps our money right here in our communities.”

Why Buy NL Products?
Support Your Neighbours and Community by Buying Products Manufactured Right Here
What do beer, windows & doors, mattresses, concrete, newsprint, and chicken all have in common? They were all Manufactured Right Here, in Newfoundland and Labrador. And the list doesn’t stop there.
In 1990, CME’s NL division (CME NL) created a program to support, promote, and strengthen the manufacturing sector in NL — aptly named — Manufactured Right Here (MRH). The province-wide program was hugely successful and one of the country’s first provincial “Support Local” programs.
“We are proud to see the Manufactured Right Here logo on products across NL. This is what the logo was designed for — to give credit to companies that support local families and producers in the manufacturing industry, Right Here in Newfoundland and Labrador,” says David Haire, vice-president of CME NL.
The program’s vision was to unite NL-made products under a single banner so consumers could identify products made or Manufactured Right Here in Newfoundland and Labrador and choose to support local businesses owned and operated by their family members and neighbours, keeping their hard-earned dollars in their communities and the provincial economy.
“We want to ensure the Manufactured Right Here brand is at the forefront of consumers’ minds when making their purchasing decisions,” says Haire, “because supporting local businesses is also supporting your neighbours.”
Manufacturers across the province display the Manufactured Right Here (MRH) logo on their products, signage, and packaging, including Molson Coors Beverage Company, Country Ribbon, Distinctive Interiors, Kento Windows & Doors, Concrete Products Ltd., Sutreen Hardwoods & Molding, Browning Harvey Ltd., Chatman’s Bakery, Restwell Mattresses, and many more.
These companies use the CME-trademarked MRH symbol because they know that Newfoundlanders and Labradorians take pride in our province, the work we do, and the products we make, and that local support goes a long way in ensuring success.
