Award Years
2024
With a mandatory CUSMA review on the horizon in a little over a year from now, manufacturers are mindful that a contentious process poses significant economic and financial risks for their businesses and their supply chains.
Help inform our advocacy on your behalf.
CME seeks to recognize individuals and companies who have achieved notable success in initiating, improving, or growing a manufacturing business in Manitoba.
These awards are designed to recognize excellence in a public way through a special awards gala held each year during Manufacturing Week. CME seeks to honor Manitoba Manufacturers in the following areas:
The Emerging award is designed to capture businesses that have started new companies with significant future potential. It will recognize relatively new companies who are distinguishing themselves through growth, impact and innovation. These organizations are likely to become future leaders in Manitoba manufacturing and exporting.
The Export award is granted each year to a company demonstrating excellence in expanding into geographic markets and through significant and sustained export sales. This company has achieved a certain degree revenue growth either through regular operations or the creation of additional product lines or the innovation of existing designs. They exhibit good corporate citizenship and have contributed to the expansion of Manitoban and Canadian employment.
The Hall of Fame award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated leadership in the development of their company or companies and success in their chosen industry. These individuals are visionary leaders, and exhibit these qualities through the design or implementation of revolutionary products, systems or processes. They are strongly integrated into the community and demonstrate a positive impact with youth and students.
The Pioneer award will look back at those people who began a manufacturing business in Manitoba and nurtured it into a successful company. Most Manitoba companies are home-grown organizations and this award will recognize the key builders of our manufacturing community. Pioneer Award recipients will have launched a successful company that significantly increased employment in manufacturing. The business may have successfully been passed on to others but is still viably operating.
The Safety Leadership Award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated leadership in safety and health in the manufacturing industry. In addition, these individuals have a history of advancing safety and health practices within their organization and industry. The winner of this award has made a lasting impact on the safety and health of others in the industry.
The Community Contribution award celebrates Manitoba companies who have over time, demonstrated a commitment to supporting and building their community. This will be evidenced by community actions such as financial support, volunteering, participating in organizations, initiating improvements, and being involved in initiatives that build the social as well as economic landscape. Recipients will have gained a good reputation and be considered as a role model in creating a positive image for the manufacturing sector.
The Partner Award is presented to an organization that, through tireless support or advocacy, has made a notable contribution to the Manitoba manufacturing and exporting community. It recognizes partners and service providers that have demonstrated a measurable impact on the growth, sustainability or mission of manufacturing companies. Recipients are widely recognized for their integrity, dedication and collaboration in service to manufacturing.
On March 21, 2024, we prepare to celebrate manufacturing and exporting excellence in Manitoba at the CME Gala Awards. Help us celebrate spirit and let the inspiration shine.
Join us for a celebration alongside more than 500 of manufacturing’s influencers, job creators and thought leaders. This event provides the greater manufacturing community with an opportunity to honour the Hall of Fame, Pioneer, Safety Leadership, Export and Emerging award recipients.
Coming off the whirlwind that has been the last few years, it is important to hear from industry leaders and pioneers and to showcase our Made-in-Manitoba success stories to as many members of our manufacturing community as we can, to lead and inspire others on their journeys.
To nominate a Manitoba Manufacturer for any of these awards, please see criteria and nomination form. Deadline for Nominations is October 30th.
A panel of business and academic leaders will evaluate the candidates presented for each of these awards with the final selections identified by November 30th.
